This category is for
several neighborhoods I am grouping
together under the label "Nordeast".
This northeast corner of the
city has a reputation as a blue-collar
bastion of Polish and Ukrainian immigration.
In the last few years, an influx of
artist's studios and art galleries
has fueled an annual festival called
the Art-a-Whirl(organized
by the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association, the
sixth annual one will be May 18th, 19th, and 20th, 2001).
I only have a few dozen photos,
so you may see pictures of
all the following neighborhoods
in this category:
St.Anthony West, St.Anthony East,
Sheridan, Logan Park,
Holland, Windom Park,
Columbia, Northeast Park,
Marshall Terrace,
and Columbia.
I would like to thank Linda Hutchinson for taking me around her part of the city so that I could get the photos in this section. I wouldn't have these pictures if not for her help. |
