This category is for pictures taken from the
observation deck of the Foshay Tower in downtown
Minneapolis. There are not pictures OF the Foshay
here, but overhead pictures of the area of
downtown surrounding the Foshay.
The Foshay Tower was built in 1929, and was
modeled after the Washington monument. It was
the tallest building in Minneapolis until the IDS
was built in 1971. For some time after that,
the "skyline" consisted of just these two towers.
The Foshay is located at 821 Marquette Avenue.
The museum and observation deck are on the 31st floor,
and are open most days of the week. They have limited hours,
which are not listed on their brochure, and may be seasonal.
There is a charge of a few dollars; call the Foshay to get
accurate information about their hours.
The number on their brochure is 612-359-3030.
