description
This pond is southwest of Lake Calhoun, across the parkway from the lake. It was created in 1999 by the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District and the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes Water Partnership.
This is one of three adjacent ponds designed to filter phosphorus from runoff before it enters the lake. It has been extremely successful, removing 66% of phosphorus and significantly improving the quality of the water in Lake Calhoun.
