This is myself (left) and my brother, Marc, in his hospital room at UCLA Medical Center. I was leaving to fly back to Minneapolis when this picture was taken.
I had just spent three weeks at UCLA with Marc while he received radiation, high dose chemotherapy, and a stem cell transplant. This was for lymphoma. Marc was recovering by the time this picture was taken -- his white count was .75, up from .12, and his absolute neutrophil count was .3, up from zero. He was suffering from neurological side effects from the chemotherapy, though. Our Mother, Linda, arrived the following day, so he wasn't alone at the hospital for very long. I want to thank the doctors, nurses, CPs, and other staff at UCLA who gave my brother such good care. links
commentsAddie Delray Beach, Florida -- 2002-07-04 I love the pictures and my prayers are with your brother 'IN JESUS NAME'. I am studying medicine and I tripped when I saw the word 'hospital'. Get well soon, Chris' brother. Gayatri Nathani India -- 2006-10-27 Well, my boy friend suffered form Hodgkins and he expired while he was taking his treatement in the hospital. Exactly was happened with him. He went through all kinds of treatements. step by step everything same happened whatever i see on this article. i came across this article when he was serious and was taken to ICU. after going through this, i was mentally prepared for what was going to happen. He is no more. And that kills. I hope I meet him forever after I die. He use to say, 'Meeting and partying is the way of life but partying and meeting is the hope of life.' His name was Rajeev Shah.
