commentsSean Ryan 30th and Johnson- Northeast -- 2003-10-24 Believe it or not, this building was designed by Cass Gilbert. His most famous project was the State Capital building in St. Paul. He designed a similar 'fire-proof' warehouse in St. Paul. To the left of the building you can also see some of the last remnants of the old gateway district. These buildings are protected from demolition now. alan MN -- 2005-05-22 cass gilbert was a very influential architect in his day. he designed several buildings at oberlin college, actually, in numerous styles. i went there for two years before discovering his connection to minnesota. surprised that he designed this one! although the arches and symmetry are concurrent with all his designs...
