description
This auditorium, like the mall in front of it, is named after Cyrus Northrop. The interior is large, traditional, and somewhat elegant. This building is used for academic events as well as touring musical and dance productions. The fencing is not a normal part of the landscape.

commentsBeverly Glaser North Mankato-MN -- 2002-02-01 The Northrup is fabulous! I have been there many times with my daughter, Amanda, for her dance competitions. This is a remarkable piece of architecture - a "must see" for everyone. Marvin Clark Boise, Idaho -- 2003-07-09 Northrup is truly a work of art. When in grad school there, we had season tickets to the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra and Northrup was their home. We sat wayyy back in the balcony, but it was still beautiful...both visual and auditory. Gene Berg Riverside, Ca. -- 2006-02-27 Northrop Auditorium will always retain a certain charm and mystique for me. I remember as a U student attending the We Five concert in 1967. From that time forward I have attended several concerns. What a grand beautiful auditorium! Post a comment on this picture | |
