description
This plaza is southeast of the falls in Minnehaha Park. The falls are behind you, the park is to the left. You are on a peninsula, with a drop-off on all sides except to the left. There is a stairway to the lower area of the park to the right of the lamppost.
commentsSean Ryan 30th and Johnson- Northeast -- 2003-09-17 This is one of the plazas that caused the park to be removed from the National Register of Historic Places. The reasoning being that the park was designed in the English Picturesqe style. That is an emphasis on natural features and lines. No formal walks, no straight lines, just great vistas. Too bad the park board ruined it by ignoring the designers original intentions. Post a comment on this pictureThis page last modified:2005-01-18 | |
