description
You are looking north at a shelter in Holmes Park, which is to the left. The playground for Marcy Open School is in the right background. I think this shelter was a warming house in the winter, and may have bathrooms.

commentsBarbara 1006 Center Circle N.E....Fridley -- 2003-03-26 I'm so glad this park is still here. The Shelter was used for ice Skaters when the Park had a Rink.In the summer it was used for crafts for the younger kids.I lived on 5th street and 2nd ave.I started Holmes school in 5th grade. Will never forget Miss Casey. kathy -- 2004-08-24 If this is the old holmes school park It has changed from the way i remember. i went to holmes school 3-4-&5th grades and lived only 2 blocks away. I have lots of great memories of that era (60's) Mark Maetzold St Cloud -- 2006-04-08 I recall practicing Freshman Football on this field in 1976, while attending Marshall U High in Dinkeytown. I don't recall the school being there at that point. Just a big dusty field, and the shelter, maybe a wading pool. Post a comment on this pictureThis page last modified:2005-01-18 | |
