description
This is the second fountain in the Lyndale Park Rose Garden, during the fall. I believe this view is facing southeast.
commentsChristi Apple Valley -- 2005-04-25 This is a beautiful fountain and the enviroment is just fabulous! I fell in love with this place, Where is it? Linda Lounsbury Minneapolis -- 2006-01-24 The "turtle" fountain (as we call it in our house)is actually north of the Rose Garden proper, at the north end of the perennial gardens (the end away from Lake Harriet). It used to be situated in the "Gateway District" where Hennepin and Nicollet come together near the Mississippi River, but was moved during the urban "renewal" (i.e. demolition)period in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The figures on the central column depict Father Hennepin and other symbolic figures from Minneapolis history. The turtles around the base spout water into the pool.
