description

You are looking south from 1st Avenue North and 7th Street(running from left to right). Target Center is behind you, the First Avenue Nightclub is across the street.

The building it's in was originally a bus depot. The IDS is in the background on the far left. The US Bankcorp Center is the next skyscraper, followed by LaSalle Plaza.

Yeah! I am so happy to see this picture. As a Purple Rain fan, I was in MPLS in 1992 of October and Just got off the bus when I was listening to "Bluelight" I had my bak toward this building as I was wondering where was First Avenue Club. And I turned and I almost screamed with glee. Although, I was happy about the real life version of this building, my husband who was with me, thought I was nuts! As I think about this place it is more vivid in my mind now than it was when we arrived there eight years ago. I smile and get butterflies when I see the pictures.
