The Varsity Theater pictured here was where I spent a quarter on Saturday afternoon matinees in the 1930s and 40s to watch serials such as Buck Rogers, etc. At that time I lived at 1078 16th Ave S.E. and attended Tuttle Grade school which still is on Tallmadge Ave. I later graduated from John Marshall High School in 1949.
