This is a large, inflated ride for kids at the Stone Arch Festival of the Arts. It's set up on Main Street. The Central Avenue bridge is visible in the background.

Doesn't anyone else think this slide is just a bit morbid?

  • Pete   Tennessee -- 2002-05-19

mmm, I've always wanted the thrill of sliding down the deck of the crashing Titanic along with the other people who died! And I'm leaving Celine Dion behind for sure.

  • Brian   Minneapolis -- 2002-09-23

Hey, if you think this is bad, what about all the money made from the movie. Come on, a lot of people watched that movie over and over again with all the terrible things. This slide is simply celebrating the survivors. Why do people have to tear down something that obviously is very fun and successful - hey, lighten up!!!!!

I am so glad to of found this picture along with these comments! I saw this same "ride" at the Washington County fair Summer 2003 - I was thinking to myself, "Am I the only one here thinking this is strange/morbid?!"

Brian of Minneapolis, in the year 2050 when entertainers develop the World Trade Center - Tower of Terror ride ... perhaps similar to Hollywood Tower of Terror in Disney World - will that be ok too? Should we lighten up if we find that offensive as well?

this equipment represents the death of over 10 thouseand people!!!! People that were tortured by the cold water untill they met their fate!!! several thousand children and babies were killed in that incident. My own great grendfather died on that ship. Give it some thought..... how can people be selling merchandice that represents something sooo depressing??

What "Brian" from MN fails to mention is that he owns the company that manufactures this slide. He also fails to mention that not only did thousands of people die in the tragic sinking of the actual "Titanic" ship, but to date, several people have also died while using this slide. In fairness, Brian's company has been vindicated in every lawsuit brought forth from these deaths. In every case it was either the rental company or home owner that was found to be negligent, not Brians company.
Still, you'd think that at some point Brian and his Inflatable company would do the right thing........
Brian....when you go to bed at night, what keeps you awake??
