China arts and culture is mostly known by the Western world as the Peking Opera or in local terms, “jingxi” which is the form of theater supported by the imperial court. This form of the performing arts combines various forms, from music, mime, dance, speech to acrobatics, as shown in the photo. These performances are usually done to relay stories about China’s rich history and legends.
