description

You are looking south at a restored historical residence on the grounds of Minnehaha Park, near Minnehaha Avenue and Godfrey Parkway. There are streetcar tracks in the foreground, which travel south and pass by the Minnehaha Depot.

This is the Robert F. Jones House. There is a massive road construction project going on in the background, where Hiawatha Avenue would be. Several streets on the park grounds(behind you) were only dirt when this picture was taken.

This was also a neighborhood library for a number of years before it was vacant and almost torndorn. A rare preservation success in Minneapolis

My great grandfather was Robert Freemont Jones. His nick Name was Fish Jones. He died in 1929.
I visited this house in the 1980s when it was in poor condition.
I donated cash to help save this house.
I have lots of info on Jones if anybody cares.
