description

This is Tower Grocery, at Bedford Street and Prospect Terrace. You are facing west, looking down Prospect Terrace on the right. University Avenue is behind you.

This corner grocery store has been in the neighborhood since before I can remember.

I always used to pass this old grocery store. If one is just going down University Ave., you will never see the beautiful neighborhood behind this grocery store -- you will just see the ugly KSTP building across the street and the Hwy 280 and I-94 intersection ahead.
Prospect Pk. is a gem in the middle of the city.

Actually, you are looking UPHILL at Prospect Terr., Univ. Ave is to the right. Tower Grocery was Zipoy's Grocery for many years.

Gary is correct, that used to be Zipoy's Grocery. My grandfather was Budd Zipoy and he ownded this store until he retired in 1973.
