This is Marquette Avenue near 8th Street South. This bicyclist is in a designated bike lane on Marquette Avenue, heading south. There are similar bike lanes on Hennepin, 2nd Avenue, and 10th Street (I think). They appear to have some groceries in their bike basket.

    bicycle traffic is quite common in minneapolis. last i heard more people in the twin cities biked to work than any other metro area in the country. which would explain all the bike paths and bike lanes, and bike racks, on downtown streets.
