I grew up in that neighborhood, from 1960 to 1975. Where Patina's is, used to be an old time grocery store called Niemans...wooden floors, produce and even a butcher shop. They used to deliver in the neighborhood. Nieman's brother-in-law Irving often drove the old green panel truck making those deliveries. A barbershop once occupied the space where Sebastians is. I got my hair cut there hundreds of times. Where the dry cleaner is on the corner was, at the time, a post office branch.
