description
You are looking southwest at downtown Minneapolis from the east bank side of the Stone Arch Bridge. The bridge, in the foreground, was built by rail baron James J Hill in the 1800s. It was restored in 1993 and is now a pedestrian and bike path. It connects with the downtown side of the river by West River Parkway and Portland Avenue, and is part of the "Mississippi Mile" walking path. There is a festival held nearby each summer called the "Stone Arch Festival of the Arts".
