description
This is Old Main Street, where the settlement of St.Anthony was before it merged with Minneapolis. The renovated buildings on the right are now "St.Anthony Main", which has restaurant, retail, and office space. In the distance the marquee for a movie theater can be seen. The closest building used to be the Union Iron Works, in 1890, and is now the home of the Aster Cafe(on street level). See the next picture to look inside.

commentsSean Ryan Northeast -- 2003-09-12 The Aster Cafe is housed in what is beleived to be the oldest commercial building in Minneapolis. Its a great space. Andrew Lauderdale, MN -- 2006-10-01 A place along here does historical tours on Segways. It is a humorous site to see twenty people going down the street on those. Post a comment on this picture | |
